So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye

What?

Yes, it’s with a heavy heart (are you sure that’s not just due to the Scottish diet, Steve?) that I have to let you know that I am saying goodbye.

When?

From now on!

Oooo…I feel another song coming on.

Why?

There’s simply not enough hours in the day to keep this blog going as well as talkaboutpopmusic.com and working full-time.

If I carried on with this blog too then when the fuck would there be time to binge watch on the sofa, under my “nap-nap” blanket with a glass of wine and eat junk food?

#LiveYourBestLife

Blogging has changed and I just don’t think that it’s a platform for Steve McSteveface anymore. I did think about doing more vlogs or podcasts but to be honest I just can’t be arsed.

As well as being a lazy bastard I realize there are millions of people out there who do it better than what I ever could so I why would I want to waste my time.

My mind was finally made up when I listened to a YouTuber explaining how their mental health was suffering because of the whole thing.

Well – I’ve got the smarts so that’s not a route I want to choose to take!

Don’t get me wrong – I’ve loved my time blogging here. If it wasn’t for doing this then I wouldn’t have talkaboutpopmusic.com which is now more popular than ever and needs a lot of attention. Again, this is one of the reasons I need to shut this blog down.

It’s not to say I will never return to this blog because as well as having the smarts I’m also very fucking fickle.

Where?

Don’t panic though because I won’t be completely disappearing from your virtual lives.

I will be 100% keeping my Twitter so that could be considered to be a subsidiary of Steve McSteveface or as I shall call him – mini me…

Of course, don’t forget to follow talkaboutpopmusic.com.

“We’ve got the pop, the playlists and the pizzazz!”

It’s still me (and now there’s others too) and the only difference is I’m talking about music as opposed to the random shite I talked about here.

Talk About Pop Music

Who?

Okay, I know I’ve not won an award and I never have…well, does the time I bought an ornament from TK MAXX and pretended I had actually won an award count…

The Award For Best Use Of Pretend Awards Goes To Me!

…anyway I’ve not won an award and as far as I know I’m not dying but there are a few people I would like to thank following my time here.

First of all, Juls at The Indecisive Eejit – without her I don’t think I would have carried on past my fifth blog post. Keep on lolloping Juls!

My birthday twin and fellow Fiat 500 driver Haylee from AloadaBobbins. It’s a shame that karaokiorigami never took off, right?

Helen from Journey To Ambeth – thank you for making me understand the meaning of life!

Ritu from But I Smile Anyway – you were always the first to like my posts and I’m still not 100% sure if you actually read them but I don’t care because I met you for realsies and I thought you were awesome – keep on smiling!

Phil from The Phil Factor – you never failed to make me laugh and I’m sure one of these years you WILL be voted sexiest man alive!

Now, the next person probably already knows that I was about to close this blog down because some time in the future we both get hold of a TARDIS and go travelling through time and space. I’ll see you in the past Hugh from Hugh’s Views & News.

Finally, although we had a virtual falling out, I’d like to thank Suzie from Suzie Speaks as we shared so many similar experiences and she was a good blogging friend. She might not know this but I still follow her blog – it’s one of the items on my morning poo to do list (no offence Suzie) and I hope whatever she does next goes really well for her!

So, that’s really it for now and all that’s left to say is…

  1. What an absolute bloody let down – I’m still waiting for Chernobyl Part 2!! Shambles. But I shouldn’t be surprised – just the behaviour I expect from a fickle fellow Aries!! 😉

Think your heart has been more into the music side for a long time now, so better to bow out disgracefully. Plus nothing and nobody should put a dent in nap-nap blanket time!

Thanks for the laughs, the shoutout, the presents and lack of Christmas cards. I know this is not goodbye because we are forever bound by birthdays!

    1. Chernobyl Part 2: It’s still abandoned.

There you go, happy now? Haha. You know not everyone is lucky enough to not get a Christmas card from me!

I saw a giraffe mask in a shop the other day and thought of you haha.

Yeah, of course this isn’t the end of our special bond lol

      1. I’m so glad that I know what you’re talking about with the giraffe 😂 I’ll accept the Chernobyl follow-up. For now. I always know where you live if I decide you should put more effort in… *

(*Disclaimer: I do know where he lives but he knows I’m not a stalker. Just in case the Officially Offended get worried!)

  2. You’re right! I’m not surprised at hearing this news at all, Steve. After all, I’m already a time-traveller 🤨and shall be meeting you on June 17th 2024, when I stumble upon the TARDIS in a place only certain people would want to venture. 😀
Good luck with the music blog, thanks for the mention, and see you when we next meet up in person.

  3. Aw, thanks for the memories, Steve, and the mention 🙂 I’ll see you on Twitter (and think of you whenever I hear Born to Be Alive). I totally get where you’re coming from – I’ve been on a blog break for quite a while now and doubt I’ll ever go back to posting as often. Wishing you all the best xx

Thank you so much for all the laughs and I know you will not be a stranger, and you know where I am if you need me.
I shall never view spiders the same ever again!
