Time Lapse Videos
When I got my first video camera I became obsessed with time lapse videos.
I used to stay in a second floor flat and there really wasn’t much to film except for the street outside. Whether there are any laws against doing this I’m not 100% sure but if you do see yourself in any of my videos please do let me know and I will add your name to the credits. Alternatively, if you are too ugly and you don’t want anyone to recognise you then I will pixelate your face.
I set up my camera and pointed it towards a little coffee house called The Breadmaker – they make bread don’t you know, along with many other very fine cakes, sandwiches and all that good stuff. I left the camera running all afternoon and, once again, if anyone saw me doing that then this is what I was doing and not anything untoward!
I was very happy with the footage captured and after a few little tweaks here and there I then had to choose the perfect soundtrack to accompany it.
I was torn – not in a Natalie Imbruglia, nothing’s fine I’m….kind of way – I was torn between two tracks so I made two different versions and they are both shown below.
I love it – I think it’s amazing how so many different people, going about their own business with their own stories, are all captured here over a few minutes….
“Coffee Houses” (my favourite)
“Sweet Tea”
Let me know which one you prefer in the comments below or tweet me @SteveSays2014

I really like the second one best. I am much more willing to watch a shorter one with my information overloaded system. I agree with Steve they are allmost meditative. I did like the second music, but that’s me. I really like the ending, the slowing down and putting the cafe tables back inside. Very sweet.

Really enjoyed these – a nice concept. There is something almost meditative about them, nice watching the world go by. I did start to think some customers would never leave though!

I couldn’t decide! The second song might have edged it, but they both worked well!
