#ThrowbackThursday – SuperTed, Duckula, Button Moon And Aloada Finger Bobbins!

#ThrowbackThursday - SuperTed, Duckula, Button Moon And Aloada Finger Bobbins!

A New SuperTed??

One of my favourite cartoons growing up was SuperTed so can you imagine my excitement when I read that there was going to be a new series?

A super bear with a secret, magic word and a spotty friend – you just don’t get much better than that, do you?

Don’t you just love it? Let’s continue on the “nostalgia bus” – it is #ThrowbackThursday after all – and talk about other tv shows I loved while growing up.

Firstly, it’s great to see Dangermouse back on our screens but of course I will always prefer the original…

I’m still holding out for a Count Duckula reboot and even wrote a post about suggested voices to be used…

Count Duckula: Reboot Required…

I used to love the adventures of Mr Spoon on Button Moon…

In fact, I actually think Mr Spoon was stalking me the other week…

Haylee at Aloada Bobbins recently wrote a post about her favourite cartoons which, since she shares the same birthday as me, included most of my favourites too…

Kids these days don’t have a clue about what they missed out on – our tv shows were simple but they were awesome! I mean who could get away now with putting a little piece of cardboard on their finger and and convincing people to watch…

  1. I am not familiar with some of these shows. I grew up on Sesame Street, Mighty Mouse, Woody Woodpecker and the Smurfs. I loved the theme songs for all of them too! And, yes, they were simple–didn’t feel the need to appeal to the grownups. 🙂

  2. Hmmm Raggy Doors, The Trap Door, BananaMan, Captain Planet, Jem & The Holograms, etc. I agree can we go back to the 80s?? I’m all for the TV, fashion and music! When you get that time machine running let me know 🙂 xo

  3. Awesome! And I’m totally stealing Aloada Finger Bobbins! Button Moon, still sing the song when I eat chocolate buttons 🙂 Loved Fingerbobs/Fingermouse but there was something a little creepy about him…
I need to get the next nostalgic instalment out this weekend – some of these might get a second feature! 🙂

      1. Hmmm… For the TV – yes. For the fashion and (sorry) the music – No. Nobody is getting me in a reversible jumper and shell suit combo whilst sporting a perm and flapping around to Bananarama without a massive fight!

      2. Haha… No.
I did however give a little squeal when I went in H&M the other day and saw these. Not sure whether I was more excited or my mum was. Naturally, we had the matching shoes back in the day too!

      1. We just watched an episode of each… my 8 year old daughter loved both of them.
My son though Mr Benn was okay for little uns but boring for him and he giggled all the way through The Flumps. Who doesn’t love Pootle? !😀😀😀
