I have really been enjoying the latest series of The Hotel on Channel 4 and will be sad to see it finish. One of my favourite people in the show is Alison and I was so excited that she decided to answer a few of my questions…
Alison Pennell was one of the main stars of the previous series of The Hotel…
However she was not a regular on this series she did make a few appearances and it was brilliant hearing her quick wit and dry humour again…
So, over to the lady herself and find out what she had to say…
The last episode of the Hotel will be shown on Sunday and it’s been great seeing your guest appearances – what have you been up to since the cameras stopped filming?
It was fun doing the show… But mark is hard work, and this time he was worse than ever!! Things aren’t always as they seem, and the show is very clever edited. I saw first-hand the chaos caused by Mark not keeping the management in the loop and not giving them any notice…makes great TV though!
I was lucky enough to be offered a job at the Cavendish after filming and I have never looked back since – I love it!
Fab! Well, if I’m ever in Torquay then I know exactly where I will be staying.
Who is your favourite person from the Cavendish Hotel?
My favourite people at The Cavendish are James (General Manager) and Charles his brother (Assistant Manager) they are very positive people, have great ideas and are on my wavelength! I love Vicky the owner too, she’s very down to earth.
I do like Vicky too but she really needs to take a step back and go off to bingo or something!
Who do you miss most from The Grosvenor?
I miss Elaine from The Grosvenor (Scottish lady on Reception) and Christian – he was brilliant…loved him!
It looks like Elaine is still there and still providing a wonderful service! As for Christian, well, I thought he came across as bit of a t*** to be honest but I’ll trust your judgement!
I’m a massive Eurovision fan – if there is another series of The Hotel can you ask Mark to do a Eurovision themed night?
I don’t know if there will be any more “Hotel” shows – but I doubt I will be taking part again! I’m happy where I am.
Oh well I’ll just have to have my own little Eurovision party at home and I have no problems with that whatsoever!
One of your funniest moments was you bumping your head on the little doorway…
How sore was your head after you did that?
My head is better but it did hurt at the time!!
You have a wonderful relationship with Mark. What do you love and what annoys you about Mark?
Mark and I had a very close friendship but we don’t see each other now and to be honest don’t talk much as we are both so busy. We had some great days at the hotels and went through a lot but Mark wants a career in TV now. I’m happy leading an everyday life…things have changed. Good Luck to him 🙂
Indeed – I’m sure we’ve not seen the last of Mark!
Would you ever do any other reality TV shows and if so which one?
I’d love to do Strictly – that’s it. I’d never do Big Brother or the jungle!!
Quite right – dancing over eating kangaroo bollocks any day!
What’s on your MP3 player right now?
One Direction is on my MP3. If I’m honest I quite like them – especially Harry Styles!!
Really? That boy just needs a haircut and a good wash but they do have some good songs.
What do you do when you’re not on the telly or Twitter?
I love social networking but I’m so busy that I don’t get much time to do anything else.
Awwww – I’ll take you out for a drink (or two) if I come to Torquay!
A massive thanks to Alison for taking the time to answer my questions and I wish her all the best in the future.
