The Hotel On Channel 4: Episode Three…

Everyone loves a trier and Mark Jenkins from Channel 4’s The Hotel is certainly a trier…

As I’ve said previously, I love Mark’s attitude and this statement from the most recent episode really sums him up…

“If someone said to me tomorrow we’d like you to be prime minister, I wouldn’t really know what I was doing – but I’d have a go!”

Brilliant! I’m almost sure he would even do a better job than some of the actual Prime Ministers.

However, if what Mark was trying to do in this episode was p*** off an entire nation then he might just have succeeded – Scottish Night.

I hate to tell you Mark but we don’t all eat deep fried Mars Bars, we like haggis but not on sticks and as for that hideous reindeer creature thing…

Did someone phone for an ugly Rudolph?

We do wear kilts and we wear them well. Sadly, Mark – you don’t but I really appreciate your effort but next time lose the socks and shoes…

How not to look good in a kilt…

I changed my opinion about Mike the barman this week. With a little mentoring from Mark he, despite grumpy Hotel owners moaning and complaining, helped triple the takings and make Scottish Night a resounding success. This was even with all the proper Scottish people staying at the hotel buggering off to the theatre for the night. Probably for the best as they might have got a little rowdy…

The guests this week were a single Mum, her daughter, her son and her son’s girlfriend. They were a nice family unit and the fact that they were eating Pot Noodles in their bedroom made me like them even more!

I wasn’t expecting to see the wonderful Alison this week so I wasn’t disappointed when she didn’t appear…

Can’t wait to check in again next week!

As for all the backlash – at the end of the day this is a programme designed to boost TV ratings so just accept it for what it is! As always Trip Advisor can be guaranteed to tell it like it is so if you want to know what it’s really like then take a look at the reviews for The Cavendish on Trip Advisor and make up your own mind.

Watch episode three and get excited for episode four!

OMG – Pft me…
